One of the most interesting things about working with an NGO is understanding what they do. Their work is so varied, and all important to make a difference for communities and people around the world.
Coachfluence was contracted by a Global NGO to help them develop their strategic plan for their Blue Ocean Economy Programme in Liberia, aimed at mitigating issues of overfishing, marine pollution, sanitation and protecting the biodiversity of the country.
The project involved establishing a purpose and mission statement for the programme, key strategic initiatives, driving impactful results during implementation, as well as mitigation actions that are currently being planned out.
We used story telling as a key mechanism to establish the strategy as we were dealing with a variety of stakeholders. It's exciting because it really focuses on maximizing impact in order to create significant change for communities across Liberia!

Who knew a three day sales leadership summit would change the face of a company in just a few short weeks? It appears that's exactly what happened. Coachfluence was brought in by the client to help their team develop client-level strategies and solution selling capabilities as part of their overall growth strategy.
We introduced them to new sales concepts through our coaching sessions, while also teaching them how to prepare and pitch value propositions. In this way we set out on an exciting journey that culminated in a 3-day sales leadership summit used to energize, focus and mobilise their leadership!
It's been incredible to see the progress we've made together; people who were previously apprehensive about pitching and prospecting are now comfortable to take to market solutions that make an impact.

When the first Covid lockdowns occurred, front line NGOs were hit the hardest. As part of our support to the community we assisted a small NGO that focuses on after school care for students, with a sustainability and funding strategy.
Working remotely over a month, we analysed, facilitated and coached the leadership team in developing their funding and strategy approach.
The results: they had a clear pathway to sustainability in a really difficult year and continued to support with care to students.

A large construction company had been having problems producing their monthly end close reports on time. The client hired Coachfluence to conduct a review of the finance function. We quickly realized that because of the economic impact of the Covid lockdown, the client had retrenched finance staff and had not re-engineered their business processes and team members were burning out.
We had also identified inadequate systems support. We made a set of strategic recommendations to unlock real cash value from ineffiencies in the organisaation to implement, most of which are in progress.

An international NGO running a coding academy in the Western Cape needed to commercialise the academy to create new work opportunities for the academy interns and help them enter the formal job sector.
Coachfluence was appointed to help do this. We utilised a design thinking approach to develop a market value proposition and using our networks got them to meet the big tech players in Africa as part of the value proposition design. The business successfully launched in 2021.

In a world where graduates are in high demand, companies need to stand out from the crowd. So when one of our clients (a growing construction company) approached us to design a graduate development programme for their company which would be both effective and attractive, we first needed to understand what this means. We conducted a needs analysis on graduate market trends and requirements, as well as those of the business itself.
We found that many graduates were attracted by programmes with strong employer branding platforms or those which looked at some wider challenges facing society. In addition, grads wanted meaningful work experience over knowledge-transfer sessions - they want real responsibility from day one of their employment journey. And so our design thinking led us to create an impactful programme which was mobilised across the business and is currently delivery a successful and impactful cohort of grads.

This has led them to be disadvantaged when it comes to onboarding and fitting into the culture of a company. It is our coaching that helps graduate employees find effectiveness as they adjust and learn how best to work with managers, peers, and colleagues who may have different attitudes than those they were used to outside.
It is also us who coaches senior management about what we see happening on the ground floor so that we can all grow together as one cohesive team.
